HAR HASHEM’S HISTORY
Early 1960’s- 35 Jewish families joined together to form the Boulder Jewish Fellowship. The first meeting is held on October 20 at the Hillel House on Pennsylvania Avenue. The families met once and then later twice a month in each other’s homes for services and study. Later, the services moved to a storefront at what is Crossroads East (Now a strip mall North of King Soopers and Circuit City on 30th St.). IBM opened a new plant in Boulder, bringing several new Jewish families to the area that joined the Fellowship.
1964-1965- $30,000 is raised for the land and new building. An additional loan is secured from Bank of Boulder for $60,000. Ten families personally guaranteed the loan for $5000 each.
